The Cane Mutiny is a novel by Tamar Meyers (insight: I was at the library trying desperately to find the Stephenie Meyer books when I took this one because I couldn't find them) :o(.
This book was okay. The characters were colorful. The main characters' occupation (antique dealer with a shop) was interesting. The mom of the main character was out of this world over the top crazy! But the story lacked excitement for me. It dragged on and seemed incomplete at times.
I think the problem was this particular book I picked up was the only one at the library by this author and I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was the 13th (yes you read that right) in the Den of Antiquity series of books, starring Abigail Timberlake Washburn, as the main characters, who it seems, often finds herself in sticky situations trying to solve crimes.
I'm sure had I started at the beginning and read her whole story I wouldn't have felt so unconnected with this one. Maybe I'll give this series a chance by starting at the beginning.
I would only give this book about ***'s.
